welcomeAs the end of the year approaches, take some time to meditate, to be grateful, to let go of 2013, and to visualize the possibilities of 2014.

Here is a meditation I suggest:

Sit in a comfortable position, relax and close your eyes. Breathe deeply at least three times, inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. See yourself relaxing all parts of your body, starting from your head, eyes, jaw, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, back, thighs, legs, feet, and your whole body. Place your hand on your heart, and breathe.

Then, see yourself looking back at the year 2013. Let the highlights of the year show themselves to you: challenges you overcame, successes, grief, sadness, joyful moments, connections, losses, achievements, miracles, relationships' endings and beginnings, and anything else big or small that come up for you during this meditation. Take your time here and breathe.

Now, it is time to express gratitude for 2013. Breathe into it all, and keep in mind and show gratitude to all the lessons you learned, and that you will carry with you into the new year. Take a moment to review any regrets you are still holding on to, any self-judgment, and self-criticism, breathe and start releasing them. Take the wisdom you acquired by going through it all, and let go of the rest. If you feel the need, go through a self-forgiveness meditation when you complete this one.

If there is anything you weren't able to accomplish in 2013, see if it still means the same to you now. Is the person you are today still wishing to achieve the same things? Have your dreams changed, evolved, or grown? Once you have the answers, it is time to see yourself looking ahead. Visualize all the possibilities that are available to you in 2014 in all areas of your life. See yourself walking into the new year ready with all the tools and lessons you learned this year. Imagine yourself accomplishing your deepest desires, feel them in your heart space, and let the emotions fill your whole body with joy, with expectation, and with excitement that 2014 is the year you make your goals and dreams a reality.

Spend some time enjoying these feelings. Then, it is time again to release your vision, to let it go, and to commit to taking daily steps. Allow the feelings of embracing the possibility of having accomplished it all give you the strength to commit to a daily practice, which will lead you to success.

When you come out of the meditation, take some time to write down all that was shown to you, in terms of the highlights of 2013, the lessons learned, and the possibilities that are available to you in 2014.

Namaste,

Elisa
