Self-Love Challenge - Day 11

MovementGet Your Body Moving

Today’s self-love challenge is for you to move your body, even if it’s only a 5-minute activity. The goal today is not necessarily to get in shape or healthy, (although of course it won’t hurt either), but to practice even deeper self-love. When deciding how you are going to create your body movement today, think of the exercises and movements that create the most joy for you. Make sure to choose something fun. If you already have a daily exercise routine, think of something that you don’t usually do, but that you love doing and go for it.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Go for a walk or run (I know that some places might be too cold, but if that’s what you love, take a little break, dress up in layers, put on the hat and scarf and go for it)
  • Dance - if you only have a short time to do this challenge today, play your favorite song and dance and move for at least one whole song (and do it like nobody is watching)
  • Do a few of your favorite Yoga poses (if that’s your thing)
  • Swim (I love this one)
  • Attend a Zumba class (I’ve been meaning to try it for a while now…)
  • Simply do some stretches

The options are endless, and the key today is to move your body with the type of movement that brings you joy. Since today is Friday, maybe you don’t have much time, so if what brings you the most joy is hiking or something else that takes time and planning, pick something else for today, and plan to go hiking this weekend. Which movement will you choose today?

This is an easy one for me; my dancing day is Wednesday, but I work out with weights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; I do yoga Tuesday and Thursdays, and I am now getting into the Qigong movement for healing my aching muscles...

    That's wonderful!
