What’s Most Important: To Take Action or To Focus on Energy Work?

EnergyRecently, during a coaching session I recommended that my client approached her sales or lack thereof through two different ways. The first one was the practical one, the action steps, the marketing strategies, the social media posts, the reaching out, the PR, etc. I gave her tangible steps to take to move forward and to get her work in front of those who would be interested in buying it.

The second way was to be in the energy of creating those opportunities for herself. I mentioned the importance of seeing the exchange of her work for the money, feeling and seeing the possibilities of her work making a difference and improving people’s lives, and she receiving the money in return with ease.

What’s most important? In my opinion, they go well together! If you are all about taking action, 24x7 on social media, reaching out to your contacts, networking every week, promoting yourself in any way you can, and you are not getting any results, I strongly recommend that you take a closer look at your energy and if it is open or closed to giving and receiving.

Some of the techniques I recommend to shift your energy and open yourself up are:

Meditation: The simple practice of meditating, quieting your mind and breathing, opens yourself up to create the vision of what you want to manifest and to clear up any blockages that may surface. A simple practice is to inhale counting to 8, holding it counting to 8, then releasing through 8 counts as well. If you do it 3 times, you had a little bit over one minute meditation.

Visioning: Either during the meditation or afterwards, take a moment to see the exchange of your work for money happening. You provide your product/service and receive financial compensation in return with ease, in a mutual exchange of great value and solutions to all involved.

Muscle testing: This is a technique that you can do on your own, by putting the middle finger over the index finger. You can then ask a yes or no question, and if it’s hard to move the index finger, the answer is yes, and if it is easy, the answer is no. You can start by asking your name, Is my name Elisa?, and see if it’s yes or no. Then, you could ask a question such as Am I open to receiving? If the answer is no, you may consider following the next step to shift it. (This takes practice as sometimes you get a response from the ego and not necessarily the answer that it’s important for you at the moment. As everything else, make sure to check in with your intuition before taking action.)

Tapping: This is a great and simple technique that allows you to open up to new opportunities, release blocks and fears, shift your energy, and let it go.  Tapping is also known as Emotional Freedom Technique.

Setting Intentions: Before going to a meeting with a client or potential client, set the intention of what you see happening in that meeting. I usually set up intentions every morning while journaling, here is an example from my own writing: “My intention is to write an article that will truly assist my readers in shifting their energy and transforming their lives.” I became more diligent in setting intentions a few years ago, after reading the book The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abrahamby Esther Hicks and Jerry Hicks.

If you have not used any of these methods yet, I suggest that you start by committing to doing at least one of them daily. Of course, you also need to commit to putting yourself out there and promoting your business. When you only focus on the energy work, it is much harder for people to find you. It would be best to have a good balance between the action/promotion/marketing and the energy/visualization/openness efforts.

These are some of the techniques I go over with my coaching clients. I would love to hear from you, how you have applied one or more of these techniques and how you were able to shift your energy and get different results.
