I’ve learned a few years ago to ask myself “what’s the lesson”, when life throws a challenge at me. Oprah also says she asks herself: “What is this here to teach me?”

You can use the same question for your business. When:

  • A client decides not to renew a contract;
  • You can’t close a sale;
  • Your staff is being difficult;
  • You can’t find the right candidate to hire;
  • Raising funds is challenging;
  • You are having problems paying bills;
  • And other issues that may come up.

Ask yourself, what is this situation teaching me? Once you have the answer, ask yourself – how can I learn from this? And what can I do to change the situation, improve it, or simply move forward?
